Gerald Wells is an innovator in digital imaging, with long experience in traditional and alternative media, beginning in the 1960’s. He has exhibited in America and Europe, with work owned by and exhibited in institutions as diverse as the Library of Congress, University of South Carolina, University of the Pacific, Rhode Island School of Design and in numerous juried and one-person shows. He has presented numerous lectures and workshops on printmaking and photography utilizing traditional and alternative media (including digital programs created for use in the contemporary graphic arts field).
The work appearing on this site demonstrates progressive realizations drawn from a synthesis of concepts instilled by inspired instructors, and years of personal exploration in the fields of physics, cosmology and psychology (beginning long before the advent of computer modeling).
Gerald Wells is a Professor Emeritus of Art at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, where in addition to teaching printmaking and photography, he established the Mac Lab for creating digital images.
